U of M Job and Internship Fair

Minneapolis Convention Center
Attend the largest student career fair in Minnesota! More than 300 organizations will be there recruiting for hundreds of jobs and internships. Open to all U of M students and alumni from the past three years. Registration fee includes a professional head shot. $10 in advance, $25 at the door. See details.
Careers in Law Fair
Wednesday, March 9

Wiley Hall Atrium
This fair is not only for students considering law school, but for anyone considering a career related to the legal field. Speak with representatives from law schools, government agencies, paralegal programs, nonprofits, criminal justice organizations, political offices, and LSAT prep programs. Stop by any time to learn and ask questions about graduate school requirements, volunteer programs, internship experiences, and professions in the legal community. Enter the Agtastic Idea Challenge for a Chance to win $1,000
Do you have an innovative idea to advance ag, food or natural resources? Pitch your "Agstastic" idea - in 90 seconds or less - to a panel of real investors and industry veterans at the Agtastic Idea Challenge on Friday, April 1. Attend a highly interactive brainstorming session for training on how to develop and pitch your idea. Brainstorming sessions will be help the following Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. in Coffey Hall:

Volunteer to Be a U of M Welcome Week Leader

Apply for an Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) Scholarship
Apply by: February 29
Undergraduates interested in working on a research project this coming summer or fall can qualify for a $1400 research scholarship and $300 for supplies/ expenses. CFANS Scholarships & Grants Deadlines
CFANS Academic Year Scholarships - $500 - $5,000
Apply by: March 1
Don't miss the window of opportunity to apply for a CFANS scholarship for the 2016-17 academic year. All CFANS majors can apply for a college scholarship and several departments also use the same form, so you can fill out one application and be considered for both college and department awards. Some restrictions apply - see eligibility guidelines and application.
CFANS Study Abroad Grants - $500 - $2,400
Apply by: March 2 (for study abroad programs held during Mary or Summer Term 2016)
CFANS offers three different grants to support undergraduate study abroad experiences. One application form allows you to apply for all three grants; an applicant may potentially receive more than one award depending on the program and if he/she meets the criteria. Preference is given to students applying for their first international study abroad experience in college. Learn more.
Other Upcoming Scholarship Deadlines
Cargill Global Scholars Program - $2,500
Apply by: March 1
Current first and second year undergraduates are eligible to apply for the scholarship program, which offers $2500 each year for up to three years, mentorship, leadership training, and the potential to attend a global conference. Access the application materials here.
National Garden Clubs Scholarships - $3,500
Apply by: March 1
One-year scholarships are available to undergraduate juniors and seniors majoring in in fields of study related to horticulture and the environment. Sophomores may apply for their junior year. See application for details.
Wildlife Leadership Awards - $3,000
Apply by: March 1
The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundations sponsors multiple scholarships for undergraduates who are majoring in a wildlife related natural resource program. An application and two letters of recommendation from faculty are required. Learn more.
The Lynn Johnson – Johnson Brothers Memorial Scholarship in Entrepreneurship - $5,000
Apply by: March 9
This scholarship will support full-time UMTC juniors and seniors, with financial need, who have a strong, demonstrated interest in entrepreneurial initiatives. Applications are encouraged from students in all all UMTC undergraduate colleges. Up to 10 scholarships at $5,000 each will be awarded for the 2016-17 academic year to help cover students’ cost of attendance. See the online application for more details.
Targeting Excellence Scholarships - $2000
Apply by: March 15
$2,000 scholarships are available for students completing a 4-year degree in an agricultural program. Preference will be given to applicants with a desire to work in some aspect of food animal production. For more information, visit the Targeting Excellence website.
United FCS Scholarhips - $500
Apply by: March 15
United FCS is offering up to 24 $500 student scholarships throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin. Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, leadership qualities, community and extra-curricular involvement. Recipient or his/ her parents must be a customer of United FCS. See application.
AFA National Leader and Academic Scholarships
Apply by: March 18
AFA and its partners are offering a variety of scholarships with one application form. All scholarships include sponsorship to AFA's national convention in Kansas City, MO, a $1,000 value. See eligibility criteria and apply here.
