Upcoming Scholarship Deadlines

NOTE: The scholarships below are listed in deadline order, with the nearest deadlines listed first.

Annie's Sustainable Agriculture Scholarships
deadline: January 5, 2015
These scholarships can be worth thousands. Applicants must be studying sustainable and organic agriculture. Funds are for the 2015–2016 school year. See the Annie's website.

Truman Picard Scholarship, $2500
deadline: January 16, 2015
This is for Native American students studying natural resources. Learn more from the Intertribal Timber Council.

Do the 2015 Acara Challenge, Win Up to $5000
deadline: January 23, 2015
The Acara Challenge is an annual competition in which teams of U of M students present solutions to environmental and social challenges. Learn more and take the challenge. Sponsored by the U of M's Institute on the Environment.

AFA Animal Institute
deadline: January 30, 2015
This is for students interested in animal industries and agriculture. The AFA Institute is a 3-day event held annually (Kansas City, April 12–14, 2015). Up to 70 students will be selected. NOTE: If you're selected to attend, you can apply for a CFANS Conference Grant to help with transportation costs.

Sylvia Rowe Fellowship Award
deadline: January 30, 2015
This fellowship is for students focused on nutrition or food safety. Recipients receive a 2015 paid internship at the International Food Information Council (IFIC) in Washington, D.C.

Upper Midwest Dairy Industry Scholarship, $1000
deadline: January 31, 2015
Open to Animal Science students focused on any of these areas: dairy production, dairy science, large animal Vet Med., dairy manufacturing, dairy technology, or dairy food science. See details.

FFA, Multiple $1000 Scholarships
deadline: February 1, 2015
Open to all CFANS majors. FFA members and non-members are invited to apply for national scholarships from 100+ sponsoring organizations. One in 5 applicants receives funding! Fill out one form to qualify for many different scholarships.

Federated Garden Clubs of Minnesota Scholarships, $4000
deadline: February 1, 2015
Open to students studying forestry or horticulture-related topics. Apply via this application form (Word doc), or learn more.

Winfield Careers in Agriculture Scholarships, $1000
deadline: February 2, 2015
Winfield offers multiple $1000 scholarships to freshmen and sophomores studying agronomy, crop production, or related fields. See details on the application form (PDF).

AgStar Scholarship Program, $2500
deadline: February 2, 2015
Open to juniors, the AgStar Scholarship Program is for students interested in Ag financing or Ag-related careers. Recipients receive a $2500 scholarship for senior year, attend an educational seminar, and have opportunities for internships.

Katherine E. Sullivan Scholarship for Study Abroad, $25,000
deadline: February 6, 2015
Open to U of M seniors in all majors, this scholarship provides an opportunity to go abroad for a fifth year of studies.

Go Global Scholarship for CFANS Study Abroad, $400 to $750
deadline: February 9, 2015
Any CFANS student planning to go on an international program in 2015 should apply for this CFANS scholarship. See other funding options for international study here.

CFANS Academic-Year Scholarships, $500 to $5000
deadline: March 2, 2015
All CFANS majors can apply for a CFANS scholarship for the 2015–2016 school year. Each year, up to 200 students receive these scholarships! See eligibility guidelines and application.
