Favorite memory of campus:
I was a campus and barn tour guide and I loved showing local city kids the farm animals and barns. They would get so excited to be able to touch a lamb or a calf.

Why did you choose CFANS as a college?
I originally wanted to be a veterinarian, and the vet college is fantastic.

Why do you think the University of Minnesota is "great?"
As a comprehensive university, you can follow your passion in what you want to study and the university has something great in almost every field or profession. It allows students to follow their passions, pretty much anywhere they lead.

Career information/ professional achievements:
I am a professor at London Business School. I was formerly the Deputy Dean of the school and awarded the school's all-school teaching award.

What's your passion? What do you love about your work and your field?
I love the autonomy in my job. I get to study topics I think are important, such as how to resolve conflict in a work team and how leader personality affects leadership style and success in teams. I also love sharing my enthusiasm for these topics in my teaching.

How did your education at the U of M help prepare you for what you are doing today?
The U of M gave me both an excellent liberal arts education, as well as very good career skills training.

What advice do you have for current students (and future alumni)?
Follow your passion for what you want to learn about. If you are enthusiastic about what you are learning, you will be a better student, and you'll love the job once you graduate.
