Annual Kolshorn Lecture and FWCB Annual Award Ceremony

September 18, 2017
4:30pm to 6:00pm

Marie-Josée FortinMark your calendars for the 2017 Kolshorn Lecture and Awards Ceremony. The event will be held 4:30-6 p.m., Sept. 18, in 33 McNeal Hall on the St. Paul campus. This year's speaker will be Marie-Josée Fortin, of the University of Toronto, whose lecture will focus on challenges for sustaining wildlife in an era of global change. A reception will be held immediately after the lecture.

Each year, the Department of Fisheries, Wildlife and Conservation Biology (FWCB) invites a distinguished scientist or conservationist to campus to give the Kolshorn Lecture. The Kolshorn lecture series was established in 1982 to honor Otto W. Kolshorn, a farmer, teacher, school board member, and Goodhue county justice-of-the-peace; he also served five terms in the Minnesota House of Representatives.

FWCB's annual award ceremony is held in conjunction with the Kolshorn Lecture. The Distinguished Alumni Award will be presented and students receiving fellowships and scholarships will also be honored.
