How do we recognize career opportunities? If opportunities present themselves, how do we know whether or not to take them?  Are there any reliable, durable markers to guide us on our career paths?  

All are welcome to attend.  Join us starting at 8:00 a.m. for light refreshments prior to the seminar.

Karen HansonAs executive vice president and provost, Karen Hanson is the University of Minnesota's chief academic officer, overseeing colleges and academic units as well as the policies and practices that affect academic life. Before coming to Minnesota in February 2012, she was provost at the Bloomington campus of Indiana University and executive vice president of that university. A Minnesota native who began her career as a U of M undergraduate in philosophy and mathematics, she is also a distinguished scholar and teacher of philosophy, with research interests in the philosophy of mind, ethics and aesthetics, and American philosophy.
