New organic programs coordinator
For the past several years Rob King, professor in the Department of Applied Economics, has served as the college's Organic Program Coordinator. In that role he has been responsible for:
- Preparing an annual report on research, teaching and extension activities related to organic food and agriculture,
- Establishing and maintaining a database of publications on organic food and agriculture by university faculty,
- Designing and maintaining a web site on organic food and agriculture programs at the U, and
- Establishing and maintaining a listserve for people who are interested in organic food and agriculture (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Rob is currently part-way through a phased retirement, and Julie Grossman, assistant professor in the Department of Horticultural Science, has agreed to take on this responsibility. They'll be working together in the weeks to come to gather information on current research, teaching and extension programs related to organic food and agriculture.
