I am excited to be part of the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences advising team. I started my education at Colorado State University where I received my BA in History. Thereafter, I moved to Minnesota to attend the University of Minnesota to get my MA in Educational Leadership and Policy Development in Higher Education. As a professional, I've held positions such as on-campus event planning, teaching assistant, and academic advising. Prior to working at the U, I was an academic advisor at the local community colleges.
The three majors that I will be advising includes Animal Science, Food Science, and Sustainable Systems Management.
When I am not in the office, I enjoy working on different crafting projects, reading, and hiking.
We are committed to providing a comfortable, inclusive, and respectful environment for all members of our communities. If there is information you feel would be helpful for us to know, including disability or other accommodation needs, I invite you to share it with me directly or let the front desk know when you schedule an appointment.
My mission as an academic advisor is to create an inclusive and welcoming space for all students. At the core of my advising are students. I believe in a student centered work environment. My goal as an educator and advisor is to continue to challenge the norm of institutionalized advising. This means I am constantly looking for new ways to advise students while growing myself and learning how to navigate and work with differences. I value and try my best to recognize the lived experiences of my students.
