Allen Levine named Vice President for Research

Allen S. Levine has been named as the University's Vice President for Research, effective immediately and continuing through Aug. 31, 2019. Levine has been interim VP for Research since January 2017. He has been connected to the University of Minnesota since 1970, when he arrived on campus as a graduate student. He has served as professor in the Department of Food Science and Nutrition; adjunct in the Department of Psychiatry; dean of the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences; and vice provost for faculty and academic affairs. He also served at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center for 26 years as associate director of research and a senior career scientist.
