Leverich: Future Leaders in Science Award

Leanna Leverich, a second-year master's degree candidate in the Applied Plant Science Graduate Program, has been awarded The American Society of Agronomy (ASA), Crop Science Society of America (CSSA), and Soil Science Society of America (SSSA) 2017 Future Leaders in Science Award. Leverich is one of 18 graduate student members who will receive the award in recognition of her interest and engagement in science advocacy. Award winners receive a trip to Washington, D.C., to participate in the annual ASA, CSSA, and SSSA Congressional Visits Day on March 14, where they will meet with their members of Congress and advocate for food, agriculture and natural resources research. Leverich is focusing on soil nutrient management under the direction of Dan Kaiser. She received her B.S. in Agronomy and Life Sciences Communication (2015) from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
