David appointed director of operations

Department of Forest Resources Associate Professor Andrew David has been named director of operations of the Cloquet Forestry Center and Hubachek Wilderness Research Center (CFC/HWRC). He holds a B.A. in biology from Kalamazoo College and a Ph.D. in plant breeding and genetics with an emphasis in forestry from Michigan State University. He joined the University of Minnesota in 1998, and divided his time between CFC/HWRC and the North Central Research and Outreach Center in Grand Rapids. He is the director of the Minnesota Tree Improvement Cooperative where his research focuses on increasing forest productivity through conventional breeding and silvicultural techniques and the epigenetic effect of climate on the adaptive traits of tree seedlings. He became the interim director of operations for CFC/HWRC in November 2015. CFANS looks forward to his continued strong leadership and passionate contributions to both centers.
