Arboretum site of International Cold Climate Wine Competition

After a full day of judging, the International Cold Climate Wine Competition (ICCWC) announced top awards for Best-of-Show from each competition category, Winery of the Year, and Governor’s Cup. The Governor’s Cup is chosen from the top award-winning Minnesota wines. The ninth annual event involved judges from across the industry to blind taste these cold-hardy wine varietals. The ICCWC is the only competition devoted to cold-hardy grape varietals. It seeks to honor and promote wines of exceptional quality produced in these unique cold-climate regions. The competition is run through a partnership between the Minnesota Grape Growers Association and the University of Minnesota.
