Atena Haghighattalab to be CFANS Phenomics Lead

The Stakman-Borlaug Center (SBC) and the University of Minnesota Center for Applied Phenomics (UMCAP) are pleased to welcome Atena Haghighattalab, Ph.D. as the CFANS Phenomics Lead. In this role, Haghighattalab will conduct a master planning process of current and potential UMN research capacities in the area of high throughput plant phenotyping including engineering, plant sciences, and informatics. This will entail developing a long range plan for research infrastructure investments that create opportunities for public-private partnerships; developing a sustainable funding model; and designing a core facility for delivery of high throughput plant phenotyping technologies to UMN scientists. This position is initially supported by CFANS and PepsiCo. Haghighattalab begins on September 3, 2018. Thanks to everyone who participated in the interview process for this position.
