Angie Nalezny joins as new HR director
In May, Angie Nalezny joined CFANS as the new human resources director and already is addressing faculty and staff needs through effective policy, analytics, compliance, and legal frameworks.
“I can make a difference in improving the operations of an organization. I love puzzles and problem solving. There are so many parts that can go off the rails working in a complex environment and finding an approach that will get the system back on track in an efficient and effective manner is important to me,” Angie said.
“I am a collaborative, positive and pragmatic person by nature. My preferred way of working is to build strong partnerships based on respect, integrity and results. My vision is to create and deliver human resource solutions that drive organizational and individual success.”
Before coming to CFANS, Angie worked for the City of St. Paul as human resources director for 15 years. Earlier in her career, she worked for the City of Crystal as assistant city manager and human resources manager and for the City of St. Paul as a human resources consultant and labor negotiator.
Angie earned her B.A. in management from the College of St. Benedict and an M.A. in human resources and industrial relations from the Carlson School of Management. Her UMN roots are deep, with five of her aunts and uncles UMN grads—three from CFANS. She grew up in Canby, where many of her relatives are farmers. She enjoys spending time with her family, three children and a dog.
