Rizzo '92 wins 2017 UC Davis Prize for Undergraduate Teaching and Scholarly Achievement

Dave Rizzo '92 (Ph.D. Plant Pathology) was awarded the 2017 UC Davis Prize for Undergraduate Teaching and Scholarly Achievement. This university-wide award is funded through philanthropic gifts managed by the UC Davis Foundation and, at $45,000, is believed to be the largest recognition of its kind in the nation.

Rizzo is a professor and the chair of the Department of Plant Pathology at the University of California - Davis, where he studies Phytophthora ramorum, or sudden oak death. Read UC Davis's write-up about Rizzo, his impressive career, and the impact he has made on UC students.
