U of M Alumni Association honors outstanding alumni and volunteers

The University of Minnesota Alumni Association will honor its outstanding alumni volunteers, groups and programs at the 2014 Alumni Awards Celebration in the McNamara Alumni Center on Thursday, October 16. Congratulations to the three honorees from our CFANS community:

- Val Aarsvold ('94, B.S. Agricultural Education) will receive the Alumni Service Award for CFANS. Aarsvold is being recognized for her long history of volunteerism and leadership with the CFANS Alumni Society, and for her many contributions to agricultural education in Minnesota.

- James Hammill ('57, B.S. Agricultural Technologies; '62, M.S. Agricultural Economics) will receive the Alumni Service Award for CFANS. Hammill is being honored for his visionary leadership within the Department of Applied Economics and passionate involvement with the Minnesota Council of Economic Education (MCEE), helping to establish it as one of the U of M's strongest outreach programs.

- Rylee Ahnen ('14, B.S. Nutrition and English) will receive the Student Volunteer of the Year award.

Tickets for this celebratory event are $40 and include dinner and program.
