Carl Stromberg Memorial Scholarship is officially endowed!
The Carl Stromberg Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Carl L. Stromberg, a 2001 Ag and Food Business Management graduate, who passed away in 2013. His parents Loy and Janet, brother and sister-in-law Eric and Laura, and his loving camping crew raised money to establish an endowed scholarship for CFANS students to honor his memory and support students who share Carl's passion for poultry.
As a student, Carl was involved in the Midwest Poultry Consortium and was a co-founder of the Gopher Poultry Science Club. Not long before he died he fulfilled his goal of working with his father, mother and brother in the family poultry business, Stromberg's Chicks and Gamebirds. He was also a passionate Gopher fan and described as someone who lived his short life to the fullest. Congratulations to "Carl's Crew" (group photo, right) for their fundraising success! As one of his friends stated at the official signing, "100 years from now, when we're all gone, this scholarship will continue to help students and Carl's name will live on."
