Development spotlight: CHS supports Commodity Challenge
CHS has committed $150,000 to support the new Commodity Challenge in the Department of Applied Economics. Commodity Challenge is a free on-line trading game that features “real-time” cash, futures and options quotes for corn, soybeans and wheat. It’s currently used in FFA, high schools and college classrooms to learn about grain markets and marketing strategies and it’s used by farmers and marketing groups to improve grain marketing skills. “When we found out about this opportunity, we thought it was an ideal partnership for CHS and CFANS,” says William Nelson, Vice President for Corporate Citizenship. “It provides a fun approach to agricultural education for our youth and it serves as a resource to farmers.”
CHS Inc. is a Fortune 100 business owned by over 600,000 United States agricultural cooperatives, farmers, ranchers, and thousands of preferred stock holders. The Commodity Challenge is open to anyone who wants to learn the ins and outs of grain marketing in a cost-free and risk-free environment. Learn more or join the Commodity Challenge.
