Give to the Max Day: Give to CFANS Students!

Give to the Max Day - Minnesota's annual giving extravaganza - is coming up on Thursday, November 17. This year we are using this special day of giving to highlight the CFANS Emergency Student Support Fund.

This fund provides financial or other assistance to College of Food, Agriculture and Natural Resource Science students who are in danger of withdrawing due to unanticipated, temporary financial hardships resulting from emergency or crisis situations.

In the past these efforts have included:

  • CFANS defrayed the cost of a required field-study. Ensuring graduation requirements were met.
  • CFANS paid for a student's bus pass after his car was totaled ensuring he could make it to campus for class.
  • CFANS was able to help a student replace a computer after a theft, allowing that student to complete his thesis and graduate on-time.
  • CFANS has helped offset costs of re-enrollment of a student who dropped out due to a family situation just three classes short of earning her degree. With support she was able to return to campus and finish her degree. She is now working full-time and extremely grateful.

The first $7,000 given to the CFANS Emergency Student Support fund on November 17 will be matched dollar for dollar thanks to the wonderful support of three CFANS alumni. Please contribute on Give to the Max Day!
