Fiercely committed to education and outreach in their community, Carole and Dennis Johnson have recently established a bequest designated for Organic Dairy and Horticulture Outreach and Education at the West Central Research and Outreach Center (WCROC). Carole, '90 (M.E. Home Economics Education), a retired home economist and Dennis '66 (M.A. Agriculture) '73 (Ph.D. Dairy Husbandry), retired WCROC faculty scientist of organic and sustainable dairy research, are not ones to sit back in retirement. They continue to be actively involved in the WCROC and in their community. In the growing season, they can be found caring for a large garden and making jams and jellies from the fruits of their labor, complemented by homemade french bread, all of which they sell at the Morris Farmer's Market.
Our sincere thanks to Carole and Dennis for their service, generosity and continued commitment to the mission of the West Central Research and Outreach Center.
