CFANS students face some of the best prospects for well-paying jobs after graduation. Nearly 60,000 openings for high-skilled jobs in agriculture, food, renewable natural resources, and environment fields are expected annually in the U.S., yet there are only an average of 35,000 graduates available to fill them. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced a new report in May that showed the significant demand for recent college graduates with a degree in agricultural programs and related fields. The report projects that approximately half of the job opportunities will be in management and business, with another 27% in STEM areas. The report also shows that women make up more than half of the food, agriculture, renewable natural resources, and environment higher education graduates in the U.S. Read the employment outlook report.
