Development spotlight: Marv Bauer
Marv Bauer, Professor Emeritus of Remote Sensing, and his wife, Jean, who passed away in 2012, accepted faculty posts at the University of Minnesota in 1983; Jean in the department of Family Social Science, and Marv in the Department of Forest Resources. They spent three decades in illustrious and field-changing academic careers. Gracious philanthropists, Marv and Jean were appreciative of their experiences as faculty members at the University and have shown their gratitude over the years by giving back to their respective departments. Both established endowed fellowships in their colleges and Marv recently finalized a bequest for a faculty chair in the department of Forest Resources and another in Jean's name that will benefit Extension and the College of Education. Thank you, Marv, for your generosity that will help to ensure your good work continues.
