- James Walter Kelm passed away December 17, 2014 at the age of 67. Kelm earned his B.S. in Agricultural Education and Animal Sciences from CFANS in 1969. He taught high school Agriculture for five years before becoming a Farm Business Management Instructor at Red Wing Technical College in 1974 until he retired in 2009. He was very active professionally, serving on many state and national boards, and was an active member of his local Red Wing community. Read full obituary.
- Curtis J. Overdahl passed away December 4, 2014 at the age of 97. Overdahl served in WWII as a navigator on a B-17 and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal in recognition of his service. After the war he earned a B.S. in Agricultural Engineering in ('47), and an M.S. in Soils ('49) from the University of Minnesota, followed by a Ph.D from Purdue University. He was an extension soil scientist with the Department of Soil, Water and Climate from 1965-1982 (then called the Soils Science Department). He initiated a 13-state working group to investigate claims of nontraditional products used as soil amendments that still meets annually. Read full obituary.
