Connect with a current student - become a CFANS Mentor!

The award-winning CFANS Mentor Program, a program of the CFANS Alumni Society, connects current students with local and long-distance mentors - alumni and professionals - who support students as they explore career paths, learn how to network, and develop their professional skills. Mentors and students meet once a month from October through May to discuss everything from industry trends to work-life balance to class projects. Students benefit tremendously from the insights of alumni & friends in their areas of interest, and mentors love the opportunity to give back.

Jennifer Corcoran '09 '13 (M.S. Soil Science, Ph.D. Natural Resources Science), has mentored three CFANS students over the past three years. She shares, "As a student, I would have benefited greatly from this program; knowing this, I am happy to participate as a means to pay it forward."

Dave Pascoe '09 (Ph.D. Food Science), recently honored as a 5-year CFANS mentor, writes, "My student this year was a very bright, intelligent, bundle of energy that was focused on creating a more clearly defined path to her ideal career.  Connecting her to people in areas of interest within industry, providing perspective, and challenging her, created curiosity and motivation.  It was great watching her make connections between her abilities, interests, and responsibilities associated with different jobs, while expanding her network."
