- Vonny (Avonell) Hagen passed away in January of this year at the age of 81. After earning her Master's Degree in Natural Resources she went on to work for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources until her retirement in the early '90s. She was an adventuresome woman who loved to travel and is remembered fondly as a colorful personality with unique artistic flair. Read the obituary in the Star Tribune.
- Gary W. Leske, of Fridley, passed away February 18, at age 75. Gary was a three-time alumnus of the University of Minnesota, having earned his B.S. ('62), M.S. ('68) in Agricultural education and Ph.D. ('70) in Education. He joined the U of M Ag Ed faculty in 1973 and retired in 2004. He especially enjoyed working with students as the Director of Graduate Studies. He was a member of Alpha Yeta, Gamma Sigma Delta and Alpha Tau Alpha, in in the State FFA Hall of Fame, and was a long time judge at the Minnesota State Fair. Read full obituary.
