Agricultural Education, Communication & Marketing grows by two
Two new professors, Troy McKay and Garrett Steede, will begin teaching in the Agricultural Education, Communication & Marketing program this fall.
McKay (pictured, left) is the new CHS Instructor of Digital Media. He earned his Ph.D. from Iowa State University. Prior to coming to CFANS, he served as an assistant professor at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN and Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, IA. He specializes in the instruction of digital content production and has more than 15 years of professional experience working in the film industry in Hollywood, CA. Troy has also worked on projects for network television, major movie studios and independent film productions. He is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, the University Film and Video Association, and the Iowa Motion Picture Association.
Originally from Lucedale, MS, Steede (pictured, right) is excited to be joining the Agricultural Communication and Marketing staff. He comes to us with experiences in animal agriculture, as he was previously an animal science instructor at Clemson University and Fort Hays State University. He completed a Ph.D. in agricultural communications and education from Texas Tech University this past May, where his research examined the role online and traditional print media plays in influencing public opinion of antibiotic use in livestock.
Please extend your warmest CFANS welcome to professors McKay and Steede!
