All first-year students new to the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS) are required to attend a 2-day overnight Orientation session. Orientation sessions are held in June and July.
Students who have paid their confirmation fee receive an email in March (not earlier) with specific Orientation dates, registration instructions, and other details. NOTE: Whenever you pay your fee, it will take up to 2 weeks for the fee to be processed. After it's processed, we'll email you with Orientation information.
The goal of this 2-day Orientation session is to give incoming students the opportunity to:
- learn about CFANS and U of M programs and services
- register for courses, with the assistance of an adviser
- meet other first-year students
