Jessica Taylor - CFANS Study Abroad Program

Winter 2016

The study abroad program that I participated in was Thailand: Tiger Conservation and Vertebrate Field Methods.

Simply put, all of my experiences in this program were amazing.

I was able to do things that I have never done before and might have never done if I was not able to participate in this program.

Personally, I think I was able to grow as a person because I was able to branch out of my comfort zone and try new foods and meet new people. I was able to create lasting relationships with everyone on the trip.

More importantly this trip also helped me develop my professional skills. Prior to this class I had never done such intensive field work, set up camera traps, or done anything with birds. In this class I was able to learn about what field work really means, how to work with camera traps, and how to band birds.

Overall, this trip allowed me to build my personal and professional network all while having once in a lifetime experiences.
