Department Head Position Profile

The Department is home to consistently more than 50 tenured, tenure-track, research, and teaching staff that play a major role in carrying out the Department’s mission. Our undergraduate and graduate education programs are consistently ranked among the top in the nation. The Department is home to the Forest and Natural Resource Management undergraduate program (SAF accredited) and is a major contributor to the Environmental Sciences, Policy, and Management undergraduate and Natural Resources Science and Management graduate programs.

Based in St. Paul, MN, the Department manages or collaborates with a number of unique facilities and centers including the Cloquet Forestry Center, the Hubachek Wilderness Research Center, the North Central Research and Outreach Center, the Minnesota Tree Improvement Cooperative, the Center for Changing Landscapes, the Center for Forest Ecology and the Sustainable Forests Education Cooperative and others. The USFS Northern Research Station St. Paul office is located on-campus.
