Food & Ag Marketing Night
Thursday, February 9 |5:30 pm
St. Paul Student Center, North Star Ballroom
If you're interested in food, ag, marketing or all of the above, network with professionals from top agencies and companies in the Twin Cities. Professionals will share their expertise through discussions of industry related topics. Students will leave more informed and prepared for their future careers. This event is hosted by the North Central Chapter of the National Agri-Marketing Association and CFANS Alumni Relations. Learn more and RSVP.

Upcoming Scholarship Deadlines

College Scholarships & Grants:

CFANS Study Abroad Grants
Apply by: February 22
Planning to study abroad May or Summer Term 2017? Apply for CFANS Study Abroad Grants for extra financial support for your international experience. One simple application form allows you to be considered for three study abroad grants from CFANS. The U of M Learning Abroad Center also offers study abroad scholarships with a similar application and the same deadline. Apply for both! 

CFANS Academic Year Scholarships 
Apply by: March 1
All CFANS majors can apply for college and department (if applicable) scholarships for academic year 2017-18 using a single application. See eligibility guidelines and application for details.

External Scholarships Related to CFANS Majors: 

Upper Midwest Dairy Industry Association Scholarship
Apply by: January 31
The UMDIA Gene Watnaas Scholarship Fund provides three $1,000 scholarships for students pursuing a degree in Animal Science with dairy production emphasis or Dairy Food Science. See details and apply.

FFA Scholarships
Apply by: February 1
FFA members and non-members are invited to apply for national scholarship awards from 100+ sponsoring organizations. More than 1,800 scholarships are available; many are for $1000. Visit the FFA website for details.

Federated Garden Clubs of Minnesota Scholarships
Apply by: February 1
This is a $4,000 scholarship. Eligible students are Minnesota residents, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, who are pursuing a degree related to forestry, horticulture, landscape design or a related field. Please see application (.pdf) for details.

AgStar University Scholarship Program
Apply by: February 3
The AgStar Scholars Program through AgStar Financial Services provides education, support and insight to students interested in Ag financing or Ag-related careers. A $2,500 scholarship awarded to each student in the program and disbursed during the fall semester of junior year. Scholars participate in an Ag financing seminar, and have opportunities to apply for AgStar internships. Visit the AgStar website to find more information.

Central Minnesota Farm Show Scholarships
Apply by: February 3
The St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce will be awarding 8-10 scholarships at $500 each for undergraduates enrolled in an agricultural related program. Limited to students who graduated from high school in central Minnesota counties. See the website for eligible counties and application.

Key Academic Calendar Dates

– Jan 23: 100% refund deadline for canceling spring classes
– Jan 23: Last day to add spring classes without instructor approval
– Jan 28: First spring payment due
– Jan 30: Last day to add spring classes without college approval
– Jan 30: Last day to cancel spring classes and not receive a "W"
– Jan 30: Last day to change grade basis (AF or S/N) for spring classes
– Jan 30: Last day to receive a 75% tuition refund for canceling spring classes
- Jan 31: Last day to apply for spring undergraduate graduation
