No Drop-in Advising Hours Over Winter Break
Due to reduced student traffic during winter break, the CFANS Advising Center (130 Coffey Hall) will not be offering drop-in hours, but students are welcome to stop by the One Stop/Advising Center and they will be assisted. Regular Drop-in advising hours will be reinstated on January 17, 2017: Monday - Friday; 10:30 a.m. - Noon and 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Apply for a CFANS Scholarship!
Apply by: March 1
The application form for CFANS scholarships for the 2017-18 academic year is now open. All CFANS majors can apply for a CFANS scholarship and many departments also use the same form, so you can fill out one application and be considered for both college and department awards. Up to 200 awards are given each year in amounts ranging from $500 - $5000! See eligibility guidelines and application.
Study Abroad Programs with CFANS - Spring Break, May & Summer Term 2017
Over winter break consider if studying abroad this Spring Break or summer is right for you. Application deadlines begin January 7 for Spring Break and February 1 for May/ summer. Review the CFANS opportunities below for more details:

CFANS Study Abroad Grants
Apply by: February 22
Planning to study abroad May or Summer Term 2017? Apply for CFANS Study Abroad Grants for extra financial support for your international experience. One simple application form allows you to be considered for three study abroad grants from CFANS. The U of M Learning Abroad Center also offers study abroad scholarships with a similar application and the same deadline. Apply for both!
CFANS Academic Year Scholarships
Apply by: March 1
All CFANS majors can apply for college and department (if applicable) scholarships for academic year 2017-18 using a single application. See eligibility guidelines and application for details.
External Scholarships Related to CFANS Majors:
Annie's Homegrown Sustainable Agriculture Scholarship Program
Apply by: January 5
For students focused on sustainable agriculture. 15 students will each be eligible to receive $10,000 awards. See details.
Intertribal Timber Council - Truman D. Picard Scholarship
Apply by: January 18
For American Indian and Alaska Native students in science and natural resources disciplines. Scholarship amounts range from $1,000 - $5,000. Learn more.
Upper Midwest Dairy Industry Association Scholarship
Apply by: January 31
The UMDIA Gene Watnaas Scholarship Fund provides three $1,000 scholarships for students pursuing a degree in Animal Science with dairy production emphasis or Dairy Food Science. See details and apply.
