Some parts of southeast Minnesota and its rivers and streams were devastated with floods last August. Leonard Ferrington will explain how researchers are using insects as a true-tell sign of stream potential as a haven for trout. Ferrington is an entomologist and focuses his research on Chironomidae, commonly known as “midges.” As part of his research, Ferrington studies rivers, lakes and streams’ response to flooding by monitoring midges.
