|  |  | Tom Stinson Thomas Stinson is an associate professor in the Department of Applied
Economics. Since 1987 he has also served as the Minnesota State
Economist, where he supervises the preparation of the state’s revenue
forecast. His current research interests include the impact of
Minnesota's changing age structure on the state's economic and
financial outlook. He also is a member of the National Center for Food
Protection and Defense, where he is studying the economic impact of
terrorism. Tom has published on a wide range of topics related to
public finance. He received his Ph. D. in economics from the University
of Minnesota in 1973.
