|  |  | Jim Linn Jim Linn is head of the Department of Animal Science and a dairy cattle
nutritionist with Extension, research and teaching responsibilities. He
co-teaches undergraduate courses in ruminant \nutrition and applied
dairy nutrition. His research focuses on forages and nutrition of
lactating cows and neonatal calves.
Jim was a member of the
2001 Dairy Cattle National Research Council (NRC) committee and a
member of the 2005 NRC committee on minerals and toxic substances in
diets and water for animals. He has published more than 600 Extension
publications and popular press articles on calf, heifer and cow
nutrition. He currently is a featured columnist in Dairy Today and a
regional dairy publication, Minnesota Dairy Star. He has given several
hundred extension talks in Minnesota and is a frequent presenter at
national and international seminars and meetings.
