Golf Event Raises over $20k for Students

Over 135 golfers helped raise more than $20,000 for students at the 2008 Golf Scramble for Scholarships event hosted by the CFANS Alumni Society.  This will be added to the more than $50,000 endowment created by this event in previous years.  Seven undergraduates have benefited thus far.

Plan offers vision for Minnesota's resources
A new report offers comprehensive assessments and recommendations about the future of Minnesota. The Statewide Conservation and Preservation Plan (SCPP) charts long-term strategies for addressing critical issues and trends affecting Minnesota's environment and natural resources. Several CFANS faculty played key roles in creating the plan, an effort that was led by the university's Institute on the Environment.

 

Buckthorn dedication honors researcher
The buckthorn hedges on campus are now officially the "Matt Moore Buckthorn Plots," in honor of the plant pathologist who fought to plant them in the 1950s. The hedges are used by cereal disease researchers from around the world.
