This semester, a task force of faculty and students is examining the potential creation of a new college that would integrate faculty from CFANS and the College of Biological Sciences. The time is right for such a discussion, says University of Minnesota Provost Karen Hanson, because of leadership transitions currently under way at both colleges and trends in the plant and animal sciences. Listening sessions are under way for students, staff, faculty and external stakeholders from both colleges. The task force is expected to make its report to University of Minnesota administration early next year.
