Program Description
Majoring in Agricultural Education gives you the opportunity to impact lives by connecting with people. Understanding how to work with people in business and education provides you with a diverse and versatile set of skills. In our Agricultural Education program, you will learn how to motivate, supervise, coach, educate, and train others in a variety of classroom and/or business settings.
 
Our Agricultural Education major is a joint effort between the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences and the College of Education and Human Development. You will complete classes in applied economics, physical and biological sciences, humanities, and communications. In addition, you will take technical agriculture, natural resources, and food systems courses. Professional courses in Agricultural Education and Human Resource Development prepare you to be a well-prepared teacher or business professional.
 
Agricultural Education offers three exciting specializations in teaching and industry:
 
Teaching Specializations (for licensure, grades 5-12):

  • Agricultural Science and Technology Education (ASTE)
  • Natural and Managed Environmental Education (NMEE)

Industry Specialization:

  • Agricultural Leadership, Training, and Development
