Access Abroad is a collaborative effort at the University of Minnesota between the Learning Abroad Center and Disability Services to provide information on accessibility at Learning Abroad Center overseas sites. Staff assist students in identifying and obtaining reasonable accommodations and help plan for a successful international experience.
Collaborative Website for the Support and Promotion of Diversity
Hosted by CLA Student Services and the Diversity Advocacy Team, the Collaborative website contains articles about educating multicultural students and downloadable electronic copies of diversity-related course and event flyers. The site also offers links to diversity-related campus resources, relevant University of Minnesota policies, and many other resources.
Disability Services is a catalyst for ensuring equal learning and working opportunities for students, faculty, staff and guests with disabilities by increasing the capacity of the University of Minnesota to eliminate physical, programmatic, policy, informational and attitudinal barriers.
Diversity at the U of M Extension Service
The University of Minnesota Extension Service is the outreach arm of the University with the mission of making all of its educational programs accessible to all citizens of the state. If Extension is to fulfill its mission, then all of our educational programs must be made accessible in all communities across the state and to all citizens in each community.
Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Ally Programs Office
The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Ally (GLBTA) Programs Office is dedicated to improving campus climate for all University of Minnesota students, staff, faculty, alumni, and visitors by developing and supporting more inclusive understandings of gender and sexuality.
GLBT students can find resources and support for selecting a learning abroad experience that fits within academic, career, and personal plans.
Graduate School Diversity Office
Graduate School Diversity Office, located in 333 Johnston Hall, coordinates activities relating to underrepresented graduate students. It assists directors of graduate studies with recruitment, retention, and funding of underrepresented graduate students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. The office provides students with strategies for clarifying goals, selecting a graduate program, preparing the best possible graduate school application, and funding graduate work through assistantships and fellowships.
The Community of Scholars Program (COSP) works towards creating an institutional environment that supports the academic and professional success of graduate students who have historically been under-represented in academia.
Multicultural Center for Academic Excellence
The Multicultural Center for Academic Excellence's mission is to develop and foster inclusive, coherent learning for multicultural undergraduates at the University of Minnesota through educational support programs, community engagement, cultural activities, and campus-wide collaborations.
Multicultural Students Study Abroad
The University of Minnesota has made a concerted and intentional effort to increase student of color participation in study abroad and want all students to have access to the benefits of an internationalized degree.
Multicultural Summer Research Opportunities Program
Established in 1986, the Multicultural Summer Research Opportunities Program (MSROP) at the University of Minnesota provides undergraduates an opportunity to develop research and inquiry skills with a faculty mentor on an individual basis or as part of a research team, which may include graduate students, research scientists, technicians and other MSROP students.
The Office for University Women (OUW) a unit of the Office of the Vice President and Vice Provost for Equity and Diversity, is charged with improving and enhancing the campus climate for women faculty, staff, and students.

Office of the Vice President and Vice Provost of Equity and Diversity
Under the direction of Vice President and Vice Provost Nancy 'Rusty' Barceló, the Office for Equity and Diversity is responsible for the University of Minnesota’s system wide equity and diversity initiatives and programs, and for infusing the core values of equity and diversity into all aspects of teaching, learning, research, service, and outreach at the University.
SMART Learning Commons offers free academic support in a variety of subjects in three locations including the Magrath Library on the St. Paul Campus. Peer Learning Consultants, Peer Assisted Learning programs, and group study spaces are just a few of the many resources offered to students.
The Transgender Commission is a coalition of people from across the University and greater community working to create change and equality for people of all gender identities and expressions.
