- Your advisor will have a record of your work and can help you to keep track of your progress. Most advisors have advising files for the students assigned to them that are kept current.
- He or she will be familiar with services and resources around the campus. They are not likely to know every detail about every program or service, but most undergraduate advisors know how to find information or can make an appropriate referral.
- Your advisor could be a source for a letter of recommendation for a scholarship, job or graduate school application.
