Park and Protected Area Management minor

The Park and Protected Area Management* minor prepares students to plan and manage natural resources--especially protected areas such as parks, forests, wildlands, and water resources. It also prepares students to manage people, places and organizations that depend on these natural resources.

Areas of emphasis in this minor include: natural and managed protected areas; natural-resources recreation programs in public and private sectors; social science aspects of natural resource use; and skills in communications, planning, and management.

Students in this minor may pursue one of these specializations: Resource Based Tourism OR Park and Protected Area Management

All minor requirements must be taken A-F (unless only offered S/N), and students must earn a grade of at least C- in each course in the minor.

If you have questions about this minor, please contact the Minor Coordinator listed on the right side of this page.

*Name change notice: This minor was formerly known as the Recreation Resource Management minor (through spring 2013).
