Students may repeat, for credit, courses in which they have received grades of N or F, and only the first passing grade will be counted in the cumulative grade point average and honor point total. (The grades previously earned, however, will remain on the transcript, but the grade is bracketed.)
Students who want to repeat courses in which they received grades of D, C, or S must petition the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences Scholastic Standing Committee for approval before registering for the course(s). Repeating for credit courses in which grades of A or B have been received is not permitted.
Petitions, or additional questions regarding repeating courses should be forwarded to the Scholastic Standing Committee in the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences Student Services Office, 190 Coffey Hall, (624-6768).
The policy regarding repeating courses is published in the University of Minnesota Undergraduate Catalog.
