CES LandTec Gemini Gas Analyzer Unit

Date Approved:  9/16/05
Amount:  $18,000
Lead:  Phil Goodrich, Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering

Description:
IREE authorized $18,000 for the purchase of a CES LandTec Gemini gas analyzer unit which has been on loan for 10 months and deployed at the Haubenschild Farm research facility in Princeton MN in support University of Minnesota research efforts at that location.

The gas analyzer system consists of dedicated sensors for hydrogen sulfide (low level and high level) methane, carbon dioxide and oxygen. The necessary gas sample pumps and moisture removal system are part of the integrated system. A control system and data acquisition system are also integrated into the package so that output to the external computer (not part of the Gemini) logs the data onto a hard drive where the data is retrievable over the Internet. The analyzer operates continuously with no attendant and outputs data continuously. The whole system including the necessary power supply is installed in a dust and moisture resistant steel enclosure.
