Biofuels: Economic Prospects and Environmental Implications
Increased renewable energy production from
bio-resources will significantly increase competition for agricultural
and natural resources. It also will intensify land use issues among
food, fuel, fiber, urbanization, and environmental services. These
complex changes will produce global economic and environmental impacts
that will not be universally beneficial.
