The purpose of the CFANS Alumni Society awards program is to recognize graduates, students, faculty and friends who have made significant contributions to the College, the Alumni Society, to their professions or to society. 
Each year the CFANS Alumni Society presents six awards:
This award acknowledges an individual for significant contributions to CFANS, the Alumni Society, to his/ her profession or society in general. The recipient typically has publications and/ or patents, has held office in professional or civic organizations, shows diverse community involvement, and promotes one or more of the College's priorities.
The Outstanding Friend is an individual who is not a graduate of CFANS, yet has made outstanding contributions to food, agriculture and/ or natural resources, and is an exceptional volunteer or donor.
The Distinguished Faculty Award recognizes a CFANS faculty member of 5+ years of service who has demonstrated the ability to motivate students,is regarded highly by college peers and staff, and whose work builds on the College vision and priorities.
The Distinguished Staff Award recognizes a CFANS staff member of 5+ years of service who has demonstrated the ability to serve students and/ or faculty and is highly regarded by college peers. Their work builds on the College vision and priorities.
This award acknowledges a CFANS student who volunteers his/ her services to help the campus and fellow students, has demonstrated leadership through campus activities outside of the classroom, and promotes one or more of the College's priorities.

The Alumni Advocacy Award is conferred to an individual who shares the value of CFANS, the Alumni Society, and promotes the College's vision and priorities within their community and/ or the state. He/ she may share this through efforts including but not limited to legislative outreach, student recruitment, hosting of the Statewide Speakers Tour, etc.
The Alumni Service Award is conferred to an individual who contributes to CFANS, the Alumni Society, and promotes the College's vision and priorities. He/ she demonstrates leadership and shows diverse community involvement.
The Lifetime Achievment Award recognizes contributions to CFANS over the course of the recipient's lifetime. This individual has made outstanding contributions to the areas of food, agriculture and/ or natural resources and is recognized by his/ her peers as a leader in and about CFANS.
