Campuses:
Are you willing to help your favorite high school honor a junior for their scientific achievement? The Alumni Society of the University of Minnesota College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS) needs your help to expand its Science Achievement Award program to additional school districts. Consider volunteering or supporting this program!
The Science Achievement Award was established in 2005 and recognizes a deserving high school junior who excels at science with a free book. The recipient is connected with the University of Minnesota and CFANS in a way that inspires them to strive for greater achievements in science. CFANS alumni who have volunteered report this is an extremely rewarding experience for themselves and the award recipients.

In addition to receiving a thought-provoking book, the student is recognized for excellence in science—recognition that is surprisingly rare in high school awards programs. The student also benefits from establishing connections to the University and CFANS, as well as helpful alumni.
Serving as a volunteer for the Science Achievement Award is a rewarding way to strengthen the ties between CFANS, local schools, educators, and students, and to encourage and acknowledge academic excellence in science. There is no cost to participate in the Science Achievement Award Program - the CFANS Alumni Society supplies the book and award certificate. The only requirement is the donation of your time!
